Integrations

Stripe integration for wholesale orders

The Stripe integration lets a store pay you by card, from a pay-now invoice or straight from your line sheet, with the money going into your own Stripe account.

Who it is for

Some stores want terms. Many first orders, and plenty of cafés and small grocers, are happy to pay on the spot if paying is easy. A pay-now link means you can be paid before the boxes leave, with no 30-day wait. It is one of our integrations, and it pairs with Xero for stores on account. If you run Cin7 too, the orders can come from there.

Your Stripe, your money

You connect your own Stripe account by signing in and approving LaunchPal. Payments go straight to you. LaunchPal never holds your money, and this is separate from your LaunchPal plan.

If you do not have Stripe yet, set it up first in your business name, with the bank account you want paid into. Stripe's own fees apply to each payment as usual. Once it is connected, the option to send a pay-now invoice appears on every order, and card payment switches on for your line sheet.

Two ways a store pays

  1. A pay-now invoiceFrom any order, send the store a Stripe invoice with a link to pay online. It carries the order lines and goes to the buyer's email.
  2. Card payment on your line sheetYour line sheet is a page where a store browses your range and orders. With Stripe connected, the store can pay by card at checkout, and the order lands in your Orders with the payment already done.

Card or account?

A simple rule many brands use: pay now for the first order, terms once a store has reordered and paid on time. A first order on card costs you nothing to chase, and the store has shown it will pay before you extend credit. Stores that already buy from you on Net 30 can stay there through Xero.

You can switch a store either way at any time. If a store starts paying late on account, moving its next orders to pay-now is one of the options Flow suggests. It never makes that change for you.

What the store sees

A normal Stripe invoice or checkout page in your brand's name, with the lines from the order and the amount due. The buyer pays online in a couple of minutes and gets a Stripe receipt. There is no LaunchPal account for them to make and nothing to sign up to.

Stripe tells LaunchPal the moment an invoice is paid, and we check again every six hours in case a message went missing. Once paid, any reminders stop, the store's record updates, and you get a note saying who paid and how late.

A store that says "paid" in an email does not close the invoice. Only Stripe, or you marking it paid, does that.

When a store does not pay

In Flow, an unpaid invoice gets the same short reminder run as a Xero one: by default 3 days before the due date on longer terms, on the day, then 3 and 7 days late. Each reminder is drafted in your voice for you to approve, and goes from the mailbox that emailed the store.

You hear from us at 3, 14 and 30 days late. If Stripe marks an invoice uncollectible, you get the 30-day decision straight away: a final notice, pay-now for future orders, or writing it off.

Getting to the first order

Payment is the last step. The first is a store that fits your product and an owner who reads your email. See who would stock you shows the stores near you that would, and our line sheet guide covers what a store wants to see before it orders.

Questions brands ask

Does the money go through LaunchPal?

No. You connect your own Stripe account and payments land there directly.

Can stores pay by card on my line sheet?

Yes. With Stripe connected, a store can pay at checkout on your line sheet, and the order arrives already paid.

How quickly does LaunchPal see a payment?

Straight away in most cases, because Stripe tells us. We also check every six hours as a backstop.

Can I use Stripe and Xero together?

Yes. Put stores on account through Xero and use Stripe for pay-now invoices and card orders. You pick per order.

Will a store be chased by Stripe and by LaunchPal?

Only if Stripe's own reminder emails are on. Switch them off for invoices LaunchPal is chasing.
